Keywords Are What Define Your SEO Campaign & Your Targeting

What Is a Keyword?

Keywords are terms or phrases, short or long-tailed, that are used to best describe your business, what you do, and who you are.

If there is a high search volume for your focus keyword, that tells you it is something that is searched for by a lot of people. It also tells you that the competition for it is probably very high, making it more difficult to rank in the top search results. Your SEO keywords are the phrases in your web content that make it possible for people to find your site via search engines. A website that is well optimized for search engines “speaks the same language” as its potential visitor base with keywords for SEO that help connect searchers to your site.

If the search volume is low, then there may be little interest in that term. Focusing on a low search volume keyword is not recommended as it won’t bring in much potential traffic.

Google identifies which keywords to rank based on your header tags as well as your keyword density on your content.
