El Camino College embarked on a journey to redesign its website. The redesign entailed migrating 25,000 pages of content and making the entire site Section 508 compliant for accessibility purposes, as well as making the overall website more user-friendly.

The site had been showing its age, so they knew it needed a makeover! They were looking for something more sleek, modern-looking, and flexible than their old design which featured many dark colors. In order to provide both internally-relevant and externally-attractive pages for prospective students, El Camino College wanted content restructured on the site in a way that provided both internal relevance as well as external attractiveness.

The redesign of their website was an effort to increase enrollment and improve student success rates by providing students with more information about programs, courses, and services – especially the steps to enrollment. ECC also wanted to provide a more personalized experience for each individual student by highlighting what they need to know about El Camino College before enrolling or visiting campus. The overall navigation of the website was overwhelming and needed to be simplified.

We began working replacing outdated web pages with new content that would help achieve these goals, as well as ensuring Section 508 compliance.

By restructuring content on the site in a way that provided both internally-relevant and externally-attractive pages for prospective students. We also wanted to provide an updated design with a simplistic touch, including updating color and design layout, moving away from the design they had been using.
